This spring I had the wonderful chance to meet a couple with a farm in rural MD. They raise

dairy goats, meat chickens, layers, turkeys, a few pigs and lots of produce. They are just getting started on using the farm as income. They cleaned up at the county fair with their dairy goats. (I got to play with the babies, they are too cute. They use their little legs like spring boards and have you hysterically laughing just watching them. Great treat for this city girl.) Yesterday I brought home a basket full of the most beautiful tomatoes, all sizes all colors and sooo delish. I made this tart for dinner with them just to show off their beauty. DH and I had to stop ourselves from eating the entire thing. I also had a big plate of fresh string beans on the side.

I had some of my own pesto already so I used that. Only changes I would make is to cut the onions and tomatoes a tad thinner and to sprinkle the goat cheese on in maybe the last 10 minutes. The crust was fantastic!

I have a pot-luck bookclub night in September that this would be perfect for---probably no heirlooms

but some good hothouse(I know) tomatoes should be available or roasted cherry tomatoes would be very good too. thanks!

Barbara, you have just such fun travel experiences both done as well as planned! I love hearing your

stories!

Oh barb thanks. Meeting this couple was just a very lucky accident thru a mutual friend...

they have owned the land for a long time and raised goats and some other things for their family. This is the first summer they have tried using it as income. It's been tough but they love doing it and I LOVE visiting them. I can't imagine how hard they work and he has a full time day job.

A couple of weeks ago I got to hold a piglet, something I have wanted to do all my life--ever since I saw the tiny piglets at the county fair as a young child. I was in heaven!! I guess I am just dripping with city-ness, LOL!!!

Barb, it's beautiful. Just do the same thing you did except put the

address down in the last box. "Image URL"
