Luke and Holly used 3/4 cup white sugar and 1/4 brown sugar. and did not add the nuts. They were enjoyed by all.
CHEWY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE BARS
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening, softened
1/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. vanilla instant pudding mix
2 eggs
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts
Mix flour with baking soda and set aside. Combine shortening, the sugars, vanilla and the dry pudding mix. Mix in a large bowl. Beat until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add the flour mixture. (Batter will be stiff.) Stir in the chips and nuts. Place mixture in a 9 x 13 inch greased baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
