We have been to Canada twice, and I love this "eh". It is catchy and if you stay there

long enough, you find yourself saying it.

 
We lived for a short time in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, right at the Canadian border and the

"eh" was often heard there, too. You are so right about it being catchy and easy to pick up.
