Those of you who are low-carbing... what is a typical breakfast for you?

Trying to find good, healthy, lowish-carb breakfasts are getting old. Eggs are getting boring and I'm not sure how good they are for my cholesterol levels, either.

I say low-carb"ish" because I "do" have carbs, just healthy ones, and am trying to keep them to about 20-25 grams for the morning meal.

Any ideas?

 
I'm not on a low-carb program, but I often eat whole grain cereals- about 20-22 gr carb for 3/4 cup

 
Dawn, I am lo carbing most of the time..... and I have a few breakfasts >>>

that I alternate. I usually have about 1/4 cup of orange juice..just enough to take my vitamins.
Then I'll have either a container of lo fat yogurt (of late, it's been Dannon, Lite & Fit... 60 cal, 11 grams), or an egg white omelette, from the store bought carton, or a slice of 7 grain bread, toasted, with a hard boiled egg, sliced & seasoned with my choice, or the same bread, toasted & topped with a slice of no cholesterol cheese & seasoning.

 
hi Dawn, for me, a rice cake with almond or peanut butter is a real treat. if I know what the ...

rest of the day looks likel, carb wise, than maybe just a bit of jelly. tuna fish works for me too. doesn't sound like breakfast but it is a healhty treat if you have to keep the carbs low.

Dr. jennie Brand-Miller Kaye Foster- Powell with Philippa Sandall (All this is on the front cover.) Even if you do not want to buy it, just take a look see. There are samples of breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Not a cut and dried "diet" to follow.

 
I typically have a 5 or 6 egg white omelet...

typically with mushrooms and spinach.

I'm not much of a lunch eater - but breakfast is really important to me. I find eating this breakfast on the days I work really satisfies me and gives me plenty of energy.
