Tlayuda, Mexican Pizza....

Tlayudas are larger and purpose made...

Tostadas are made by using day old tortillas which are only good used for frying, like totopos, flautas, taquitos, etc....

Note that the recipe calls for a 10" tortilla as a base for the tlayuda - you would be hard pressed to find a tostada that big in Mexico, LOL!

the dough part is thicker too, it has a much more "pizza" feel than a tostada feel, and it is less oily because it's not fried, but barely sauteed in a little oil
