TNFRC: A shameless request for "likes"!

Please excuse the super-shameless request for attention! I don't have a pretty garden or a cake competition, but....

As some of you already know, I have a company that markets natural supplements, specifically, borojo capsules - Borojo is a fruit from Colombia that, although still relatively unknown here, is amongst other things, a powerful antioxidant.

So far we have sold to the Hispanic market and it has done very well with relatively little marketing, as it is well known in the Colombian community.

Now, we are in the process of coming out with a new formula that will be marketed to the US market and I am laying some groundwork before the product launch.

I have set up a Facebook page and add to it every day, and while we have 99 "likes" so far, it's early days and it would be great to have many more fans!

If you have an FB account, please come over, have a look and like us, please! If you feel like jumping into the conversation, even better!

ThankyouThankyouThankyou!!

Done. #100! Although you will not recognize me... It was a made up account for Joe's Garden. You

will one day, have to explain to me the value / importance of the "likes" thing. Amazing how technology has changed the Marketing mix. I have a good friend at a very high level at Time. She said the Pinterest is the latest thing. She was scrambling to get up to speed w/ it.

Good luck with your venture!

I had to create an account to enter a contest last December. haven't used it since

but if I can remember my log in, I'll be more than happy to help out.

Or can you create more than one Facebook accounts?

Congratulations on being #100!!

You will get a special prize next week!

The importance of the "likes"

Say you are looking for a new blender - what many people do now is go to FB looking for recommendations, so if you go to the page for a specific blender, and you see that 5,693 people "like" it, versus the other blender that has only 3 "likes" you will more likely go with the one that more people like

Also, "likes" help with traffic to the FB page, which in turn translates to better search engine ratings - for example, when we first started out, you could type "borojo" into Google and our company would not turn up until the 3rd or 4th page - now we regularly turn up on the 1st page, which is good for exposure and website traffic.

It's also good for potential customers to come to the FB page and see conversations goingon and posts that they might find interesting - I don't always post about the product itself, but "around" it - healthy articles, etc... for example, today, in honor of eat.at I posted about Rocco diSpirito getting healthy...

Pinterest is also very good, but at the moment we are waiting for copyrights on our photos to go ahead and put them on, it's a bit like the Wild West in there!

THANK YOU!!

Marilyn, you can have 22 FB accounts if you like!

Just use different emails and you're good to go -
THANK YOU!!!

Thx for the info... As you can see, I am not a FB person, so are you suggesting that people are

now using FB to buy a blender?

If I were looking for a blender, I would think of asking here, then search amazon and read reviews. Is the FB world really having everyone help you with finding a blender? Seriously? I feel so out of touch.

We do not have a FB page, dh and I discuss it often, we have the silly one for Joe's garden... dh thinks some ex boyfriend will come looking for me. (he is so cute, when he get's jealous!)

Our families are local, so I can't see the point... My girlfriends and tea friends are all over it... LOVE FB. I am getting stressed just writing this post!!! Fortunately, I do not need a blender!! : )

Facebook is the starting point for a lot of shopping these days

And ot just for goods, but for services, doctors, lawyers, etc...

You have your friends on FB and if one of them went to a salon they really liked, and they say so on their FB page and "like" the salon's page, all their friends se ethat and are likely to give that salon a try next time they need that service - Word of Mouth, that's what it's all about -

It's the same as asking here, but maybe a wider audience, if a friend of a friend has a recommendation that you can also see, plus it's not stranger's reviews on Amazon or Consumer's which are not always accurate, i.e. the recent review of bagels where they said that packaged frozen bagels are better than any bagel shop - sure, tell that to any New Yorker!

Anyway, I can tell you more about it next week, if you like!

Thank you so very much for all the likes!!

In a few months you may be able to say

"I was one of the first "likers" of this massive company!

You're in on the ground floor!!

Thanks, Gracias, Merci!

Sandy, thank you! That's my article!

If you see the footnote, it says "source, Nutropical"

A lot of what's out there is from me, especially in terms of the capsules, we are the only company who have them made in the USA...

Let me know if you do want to order some, I'll ship them right out!

Cool! Yes, I'll let you know about ordering. My oh my, red wine and Borojo will make

me fine...

I'm very impressed with your company.
