To Curious 1 and Sandy_in_Philly about Chorizo sources......

Sorry, clicked to fast, info within.....

I lived on the southern coast of Massachusetts for a long time and we used Portugese Chourico in place of chorizo. It's about the same thing. There is a large market in New Bedford that has a website that you can order from. Also has good recipes, especially soups. www.amaral.com. and no, I have no connection to them at all, I just buy their fine products. I find WF chorizo to be tasteless, at least the one they make. If you order from Amarals try some linguica too. We used to have this in the school cafeteria cooked in the same pot with the baked beans. Yum.

Thank you Janet

but your web address gave me The Amaral Group IT (doesn't look like sausage) LOL!

Aha! I found it, click on link.

I see they have Spanish Chorizo and other delicious looking sausages that are reasonably priced. That Chile Olé recipe looks good too. I think I'll order from them to make Curious' recipe. I would prefer authentic sausage. Thanks so much for the sausage link (pun intended)!

By the way, Curious is out of town for a while and may not catch up to your post for a while but I'll email her.

Thanks Janet, the chorizo I found at Whole Foods wasn't their house-made, it's a packaged brand, I

thought it was pretty good, but then I admit to not knowing what authentic chorizo should taste like. It definitely had flavor, though.
