Just ordered for Christmas eve dinner.... Change of plans from our normal Beef Stroganoff. I was able to get through on the phone vs. the internet.

Edited: asst in title = assortmant "The Omaha Steaks package includes four bacon-wrapped filets, four boneless pork chops, four boneless chicken breasts, four Omaha Steaks burgers, four stuffed baked potatoes, four caramel apple tartlets. The buyer will also get a $20 Omaha Steaks Reward E-Card, which will be e-mailed 48 hours after the product ships. The buyer will receive this -- not the recipient if the package is sent as a gift."

Can't say I've been wowed by their products when I've tried them in the past. Have found better

quality and prices at local grocery stores, and no shipping cost involved. Perhaps others have had a difference experience.

I have to agree with you Pat. Besides once they get your address they are relentless with mail.

That's what a friend said too, once she cancelled her acct w/them she continued to get mail

for nearly a year afterwards. Ugh!

Ditto. I bought from them once - never again.Ordered 2 filet mignons, cooked them medium/rare on the

rare side, as per usual, and they were like hockey pucks. Tried to get my money back at their local store, and it was quite a hassle, but they finally honored it. Blech.

Got these for my what the heck am I going to get them sister's family.

They aren't good cooks so if it's awful they won't notice.

BTW, a friend said a single friend gets these often. She told me trick is to not thaw them completely then the meat stays pinker/more tender in the centers.

Ditto with me. Got a sampler package from them for replacing a windshield in my truck. Isn't ...

...that how everyone comes by corn-fed beef?

Anyhow, I followed their directions to a "T", and grilled the steaks (rib-eyes) to medium rare on the grill. Tough as a trailer hitch and tasted of liver.

Never again! Next windshield replacement, I'm opting for the free mexican dinners.

PS: Costco's beef is excellent, and you can get it fresh (unfrozen). The prices...

...are good (not great, but good enough) considering the "choice" grade (one step below "prime").

I've never gotten a bad piece of meat from them. Never.

AAWWW! You guys are just raining on my parade! : ) I am excited about trying something

different and honestly allows me to not be in the kitchen all day preparing Christmas eve dinner. The price was amazing $39.00 less $20.00 coupon. Couldn't beat it!

Didn't mean to rain on your parade, Barb. I'm hoping your meal is perfect in every way. Was just

sharing my personal experience. Perhaps the quality has changed since I first tried them.

Mine just arrived and it at least it looks good.

I'm going to try the trick a friend said to keep things tender and not thaw completely.

I have to say though for this now single person it's nice to have all the neatly pkged food in the freezer because sometimes, since it's just me, I won't make a trip to the store and will just eat whatever is on hand. Is it as good as if I bought/Foodsavered them? Doubt it, but how many times have I bought and meant to foodsaver meat? (shh, more often than I'd like to admit, tyvm)

Plus it was $39-ish...get outta town!
