I know, not the smartest thing to do post flu but what the heck. It was fun!

I joined a local pastry chef Letta over there and we went to Chop Bar, a new place that has local beer and small plates. While we tried the local stuff, pale ales and lagers, very floral, we nibbled on bacon popcorn with Parmesan. I'm sooo in love with this chef/owner. He's a babe and created bacon popcorn! Amazing on a hot day with a drop of hot sauce per kernel, mmm! Letta gave him some of her freshly baked pumpkin molasses chestnut muffins, and after batting our sweeping lashes at him we found our snacks and second round had vanished from the tab. So sweet!

Then, we meandered over to Boconova, a new gorgeous spot in JLS, and sat at the meat counter. I had a delicious Pisco Punch, more like a right cross kind of punch actually. Letta had a Mai tai that was too tasty. We shared a small platter of Prather Ranch sliders with guacasa, a combo guacamole salsa. The head line chef was so cool, chatting with us while we were commenting on her mis en place in progress. The host looked like Seal and was very solicitious to Letta especially!

Our final stop was happy hour at Rosco's chicken & waffles. I have never had this. I now love this. I am going to buy a circus tent and just get even more fat and eat here all of the time. Their wings (free) were fantastic and so was my waffle. The waitress said oh you're from SF and brought me an Anchor Steam beer without even asking me what I wanted. Cute! How did she know it's a favorite!! And it was $4. I M so full right now smileys/smile.gif

The BART ride home was a trip. With the bay bridge closed it's packed and there is a distinct holiday feel. It's also Halloween eve, lots of folks in costume. Or were they? It's really hard to tell here, you know?

At my stop waiting for the bus, I realized it's also Critical Mass night, when the bicyclists take over the City in rogue roving packs. And tonight, in costume!! The bus ride home was also amusing. I tried not to have my eyeballs poked out by those boingy antenna headbands by short Japanese gals!! Lol.

Fun fun night! I'm bushed but have to rally for tomorrow. Another happy hour and then a tour of the vampire infested areas on Nob and Russian Hills (who knew??) and the mdnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show!!! Hee hee. Fortunately all of these places are in walking distance to The Roost.

Happy Halloween y'all!

You're inviting Letta to our dinner on the 11th, right? smileys/smile.gif Sheesh, at this point,

we're going to take over the whole restaurant!

This is such a fun read Heather. Wish I had more time in SF. smileys/smile.gif
