Totally NFR but I could use some help. As most of you know, my nephew is

travelling around SE Asia. He's posted some photos and I'd like to print a couple out. I have some 4x6 glossy photo paper but the pics on the site are of a different size. Is there any way to resize them to my specs?

I've included the link to the photos but can't find the size I want on it.

Hi Cyn, my DH suggests the following:

There is probably an app already on that computer that can do the job. Check for Microsoft Photo Editor. There are probably a lot of free Photo Editors out there, a quick Google search should yield a few decent apps.

To get the pictures just right, I would suggest the following:

Create a blank photo template in the photo app at the size you need to print (say 4x6)

Drag or copy the photo onto the blank photo and resize to fit onto the template. What out for different densities or dpi. Web photos tend to be 72dpi where actual photo files tend to be 300dpi or more.

Careful when resizing photos using the handles. You may need to hold down the shift or cntl key to maintain the aspect ratio.

Repeat for other photos using the same template. Save (using Save As) the resized photos as a different name if you may want them later.

Sorry, Cyn. I wanted to get back to you but I didn't know your

email and my PMs were full and I hadn't cleaned it out (yet!!).

I would do as Lisa suggested... click on the photo and copy it into an imaging program. You can resize the picture to any size there.

I've included a link, and they walk you through it pretty good.

If all else fails, you can take them to Walmart or Wegmans (or other place that does it - Eckert, etc.) and have them print them out for about 19 cents a piece. My sister swears by those places, and says it almost doesn't pay to buy the ink cartridges considering that price.

Let us know how you do.
