Totally NFRC... Crafters or clock-makers out there? I'm looking for a clock mechanism that

doesn't TICK-TICK-TICK with a second hand. I thought they had second-hand and non-second-hand ones, but can't find anything except the loud ones with second hands. Even if you take the second hand off, you still hear the ticks.

Is there an online source for these, or a national chain that sells such a thing? Tried Joann Fabrics, Michael's, and A.C. Moore with no luck yet. Thanks.

Not sure this will help, Dawn, since it's a clock rather then a mechanism...

But we have a few of these Ikea clocks with the minute and hour hand (no second hand). In a room with normal activity, you can't hear the seconds tick--you can only hear it when you get about three feet away from it, or if the room is absolutely silent.

I realize this model doesn't lend itself that well to crafting, but some of their other clocks are more minimalist, and might.

No... not one. Just those 2 in December. I checked my spam folder, and

nothing there either, unless I want to collect my inheritance from South America. ;o)

I could give you another email address if you'd like. Are you sure you're typing in "net" instead of "com"? Although I'm sure you are...

Dawn, if you need, I can always justify a trip to Ikea. smileys/smile.gif

Let me know if you think one of those would work!

I think so, but I'll keep looking for just a mechanism for now. Thanks for the

kind offer, however! Although the price of one of those clocks was only $1.44 or something like that... what a steal!
