Totally nfrc: how do I remove a car radio from my

dawnnys

Well-known member
car that is going to the junkyard in the sky, without damaging the wires? It's a good radio, and I want it for another car.

'Totally unhandy in the electronics department, I think I spend too much time in the kitchen ;o)

Thanks - feel free to email me at dawndo@graffiti.net if you'd rather. TIA!!

Often times you need special tools/knowledge to do this without damaging the ...

...equipment. I'd take it to a stereo installer and see it they'd take it out for 10 bucks.

just park your car for 10 minutes in NYC...

your radio'll end up in another car lickedy split.

or did you have a specific "another car" in mind.

LOL - I was hoping to take it out of my old Toyota Tercel and put it

in another car. Installation is not the problem - just the removal. It's an Alpine, if that matters, and I'm not sure if I have to use a U-clip or if it's bolted in. It just looks like a regular radio to me.

I like your idea though. Maybe I could pay a thief ;o)

Nice idea, but no time ( I'll try a google search. Just thought maybe someone

here had done it before and could give me some hints.
