news programs and internet are reporting that hundreds of thousands of internet users may lose the internet in July. You are directed to an FBI web site to check your computer. Seems very legit but I still am a little nervous about doing this. Have any of you gone to this site?

It sounds like bogus to me. I'll ask a friend of DH who works in this field

and see what he says about it.

So funny, I just read the article and visited the site. There does seem to be an issue, but

probably not as widespread as some say. You can go to the site given and check for possible contamination, but you're probably safe. I read 85,000 US users are compromised, that's not very many in the whole scheme of things.

I wouldn't click on a link sent by email, just type in the www.dcwg.org to reach the government site.

I'm at loss. DH's friend says it's a scam and adviced me to stay away from it, but

it sounds legit when I read the article.

I would definitely do what Curious suggested: Go directly to the adress (copy and paste the www adress) and do not click on any links in emails and such.

Big article in the paper this morning. Quite a f ew when I googled also.

Think I'll just leave it alone for a while.

Thanks

It walks you thru the steps to check your DNS no. and they give you a list of possible infected

numbers. You can always do that and compare to their list - no worry if your number isn't on the watch list. If it is, decide from there.
