Okay, I'm soooo confused now (doesn't help that I had many interruptions while watching the video!).

Are Heathcliffe and Edgar brothers? If not, why does "Young Catherine" (Cathy's and Edgar's daughter) call the son of Edgar "cousin", and the son call Edgar "Uncle Edgar"?

This is very important, you know! ;o)

Edgar Linton's sister, Isabella Linton, married Heathcliff. smileys/smile.gif

So Edgar and Heathcliff are brother-in-laws.

Oh! Okay. Everyone marrying their brother and cousins with the same names was

a little confusing to me! Thanks, Eva!

Was there ever any hint that "Young Catherine" might have actually have been Heathcliff's (illegitamate) daughter? Eww, that would mean that she married her half-brother, Linton.

So Catherine was in love with her adopted brother?! And "Young Catherine" ended up marrying 2 of her cousins? I guess back then, they did that a lot though.

LOL, yes they did do a lot of that back in the Victorian days...

are you reading the book or watching a movie version of WT? I finally read the book after several viewings of the wonderful Laurence Olivier film and another version. Reading the book really helps align everyone quite clearly.

wasn't Heathcliff an orphan that was brought home by the Dad? so no blood relation at all?

Right, he was an orphan, but still raised as her brother. Just a little

unusual. I was watching "Masterpiece Theater" last night and I posted my question halfway through it because nothing was making sense. It did all come together about 3/4 of the way through it though.

Doesn't help that I have ADHD and I couldn't "rewind". lol

Was the guy Young Catherine finally ended up with (the one she taught to read)

(Harel, I think was his name) the son of her Uncle Hinley whose wife died in childbirth about whom he said "take him away or I'll kill him"? If so, why was he raised by Heathcliff if he had a father?

Ok, that's my last question on this... I'm getting off track. :0)
