Totally stole ideas off the Internet to make a GBH after seeing how sad and empty the donation table looked on Friday.
Hopefully tomorrow it will look happier.
My standard size: board is 20" by 16".
House is 18" high by 12" square.
No lighting...this was a quickie.
Roof is marbelized chocolate. It was white with red scrolls which I marbelized with a bamboo skewer (perfect). But when I cut out "shingles" the point had scored down to the bottom and they split along the swirls. So I melted it all down and marbelized with white. Not what I was going for, but again....it was a quickie. I need to get it out there now since donations will only last for another week.
At work, they set out 3' square cardboard boxes in the hallways for toy donations so I used that idea. Snowmen are candles.

(EDITED: Packing the house in my car at 5:30 a.m, I thought the scene looked somewhat static. So after I placed the house in the cafeteria on the donation table, I added a few stacked gifts by the snowmen and one sitting in the snow, leaning up against the white box. Then I added a string of cherry red/silver/white beads around the board. Now I'm happy.)
