Update: someone asked this question and I thought Traca posted a picture of the product she used
however I could be wrong on this. After all the talk about Red Pepper Paste, I ended up with Chung Junk One, Sunchang Gochujang that I purchased from Amazon. They had a lot of brands and I read the reviews. This is my first buy for this product and I am not that crazy about it. It has a sweet taste to me and when I checked the ingredients list, the first one is corn syrup. It is a product of Korea and they claim the clean water is what makes this product special. I have not used it enough to be much help, except for the sweetness I detect.
I just made a sauce with this product adding soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, and garlic to use with stir-fried veggies tonight. I love it this way, it has a nice heat, but I do not taste that sweetness that I did before. I also read the reviews again on Amazon and it seems to be the choice of the cooks there.
