You had recommended the book: Classic Liqueurs: The Art of Cooking and Making Liqueurs.

I put this in my Amazon list but never got around to purchasing. Saturday I went to buy it and the price went up to over $300. Today I went back and the price is almost $800 new / $550 used! This is the 2004 version. I see another version which which says 1996. Do you happen to know if the other version is essentially the same in content? Obviously I'm not spending $500+ for the book. The 1996 version over $200 new but there is a used copy for $28

thanks. note that the same pricing disparity is here

between the older and newer version.

thank you. can I ask why?

and any idea why the ridiculous pricing?

Over the years, I've owned several copies of this book. Lost or stolen, I've never

regretted getting another copy. While there's not much difference between the editions (other than graphics), for nostalgic purposes, I like the 1996 version.

As for the pricing, I'd say that points to supply and demand. My guess is a very small print run, and few copies in circulation. And as far as I know, there's nothing else out there like it.

The good news is, the recipes I've tried...work.

Be advised, there are 65 pages of cordials (more than one recipe on many pages), 14 pages of mixed drinks, and about 40 pages of cooking with cordials. My focus has always been on the first half of the book.

If I'm not too late, try

www.addall.com. There are copies available (especially the 1996 version) for $9.50 and $13 and beyond, with reasonable shipping. I *love* addall.com and use it all the time to find the best price source on books of interest.
