Traca, was this the weekend with the James Beard Award affair??

The James Beard Dinner with the chefs here in Seattle, yes. I skipped it & had dinner with John Besh

instead. smileys/smile.gif John is simply wonderful. He and his sous chef Erick Loos joined some friends of mine for dinner at my friend Becky's place. It's funny what happens when you invite bakers, chocolate makers, and pastry folk to the table...they all arrive bearing goodies! Somehow a wine distributor found out about the dinner just hours before the event...and ended up delivering a case of wine. The night reminded me of a good old fashioned barn raising--everyone brought the best of what they had to offer to the table. I get all swoony inside thinking about it. smileys/smile.gif

I haven't gotten to my write up yet, but my friend Becky just made hers live today.

Oh, with the whirling deverish I was doing the last few weeks, I had thought they were the same.

I too would have chosen dinner with John Besh!

Becky's write up is amazing, love the photos, especially the one with the fiddleheads.

Was there some port for the chocolate in that case?

Hugs, waiting for your report,
Nan
