from BA Dec issue. I brought it to the home of friends where we had Thanksgiving dinner and it was well received by those who were not pumpkin pie traditionalists!

It is actually VERY easy to make and the presentation is VERY impressive and it can be made in advance. I highly recommend it.

The only challenge I had was making the white chocolate curls. I tried "peeling" it from a chunk of white chocolate but the chunk was too hard. I tried to microwave it briefly but my idea of briefly was not brief enough and I darn near melted the entire chunk. So then I spread a thin layer on a cookie sheet and attempted to scrape up some curls. It took a while and I was about 40% successful, finally I got enough to put on top of the torte!
