Two Formating Questions...

I think I have noticed now that once you log in on a different computer, posts we have read become bold and red again? Is that correct, or are my eyes (and memory) deceiving me? I am asking because I just want to know if I can use the method of "if its red I haven't read it yet". Oooh, I just know I'm gonna hit that "mark read" button one of these days and everything will go black. I think I even drempt about it one night - no kidding.

Also, when we post a new message, do we bump the post that is first on that front page onto the next page, or does it just get added to the bottom of the front page? I'm almost afraid to use the word "bump" here - ;o) Or maybe we just get a new page after 75 posts?

Sorry about so many questions today... I will claim its because of eating too many Christmas cookies this morning! TIA.

Dawn I notice when I bring up the site, before logging in, I see lots of red messages. But after I

log in, it gets re-set to where I last left off with only the new messages in red. Could it be that you weren't logged in?

Ang is right, when you log in...

all of the messages that you've already marked as read, stay marked as read. This works on multiple computers. If you mark a bunch of stuff as read on one computer, then go to another computer and log in with that one, it'll still be read. But you have to log in.

When you post a new message, the top message on page 1 gets "bumped" to the bottom of page 2. That way there are always 75 posts on page 1.

I can make it 100; it's quite easy to change. This seems to be working for everyone though and I don't want to make it so that it's so long that it downloads slowly for those on slow connections. You can poll people to see what they think, if you want.

Mimi, 75 is fine for me too. I just wasn't sure. And about grey/red...

I could have sworn it was resetting me on different computers (didn't used to, but it did yesterday), and that would be fine too, anyway. I can easily scan over the posts, red/grey, or flourescent green - anything is easier than the other place.
