uh-oh....my pivot head Kitchen Aid mixer is really vibrating. I checked all the screws

and none seem loose. Is something going wacky inside???

Any advice on what I can check?

I have my lift-bowl version to use meanwhile, but it's almost too big for most things...although the Cooks Illustrated crescent rolls mixed up nicely.

When Mine does that it’s the screw you see when you tilt the head up,

It’s the one that adjusts the beater. I have to adjust mine all the time because it never stays in place. The other thing to check is the pin that holds the tilt head on to the stand. Mine always wiggles out and has to be re-tapped back into place. I would put money on it’s one of those two things.

Thanks M. I know about the pin...mine moves a lot. But it's in place and the screw is tight. I just

ran it with nothing in the bowl and no beater and it's barely vibrating now. So, hopefully, it was the heavy dough from CI crescent roll recipe. It's the first time I've used it since moving and the mixer was crammed under the back seat.

It's an odd little recipe...you use the paddle the whole time rather than using the dough hook. And you only mix it for a short time so the gluten doesn't develop too much.

Result is nice, but they look so much like croissants that my brain is expecting croissant flakiness and this doesn't have that. it does have half a pound of butter in it.
