Une petite question: It's about an eye of round that I have sitting in a bath of BBQ sauce on the

lowest spot of my gas stove. This was a suggestion of Karen for shredding later for tortillas and such. I have never had or used a slow cooker so this is what I am resorting to. The meat is in a small pot and covered to about 3/4 with the contents of a bottle of commercial BBQ sauce (other than what jumped out onto my shirt). It's about 1 lb of meat with a width of about 4-5".

It is barely simmering and after an hour I have flipped it once. How long should it continue please?

I would leave it for at least 2 hours--you could put it in the

oven at 275^ for 3 hours. You want it to be very low and slow. It will be good.

I test by taking a fork, and trying to pull the meat, as in shredding. If it shreds easily, it is

done. Take out of the sauce, shred, and put back into the sauce, mix and heat very gently.....good to go. I love how this works, low fat, and tastes good.

After 5 hours & a stern talking-to, this meat finally gave in a bit, but what a chore. I had to

chop it up and continue cooking it. Ah well, I have it now. Thank you both.
