I emailed her last month and forgot to post her replies. I asked if I could update y'all since we had 'wondered' about her on the forums. Sorry! I have been so busy and don't get on much, but lurk once in awhile!
She sent photos, too, if anyone PM's me I'll be happy to send the pics to you!

From Heather on March 18, 2006:
Hi Gayle;
yes I know, I've been so busy...busy at the bakery and also took my evenings
to be in our community production of My Fair Lady. This weekend is our last
performances, but we've been rehearsing since the beginning of January.
The bakery is coming along...i'm working on it solo now. The walls are all
up, the roof is on, the ceiling has been put up and some of the sheetrock.
That's what i'm doing now, mudding/taping and runnig electrical. I still
have several more months worth of work though. I'm hoping for a late summer
opening, but am not holding my breath for anything!
It is hard to believe my trip was a year ago. I can honestly say that those
were 5 of the best weeks of my life. I got to meet so many incredible
people and see so many neat things.
And you my dear, how's things? Still selling espresso at church? And your
daughter and grand-daughter?
My husband just fixed my oven at home...it was having a regulator problem
and was taking a 1/2 hour to heat up to 425...and then I had my fingers
crossed every time. I'm a 'bread vendor' in the play so I've been making
fresh buns everyday to take in. Now it should be less stressful to bake.
Thanks for checking in on me...I miss being on the boards, but hope to be
back more consistently soon. Consider yourself hugged from afar,
Heather

Hi Gayle;
I was offered a part in the chorus this time as a busker (street vendor). I
decided I needed something non bakery related so went for it. I had the
option of what I would be selling so I decided to sell bread and buns and
have been dubbed the 'bun lady'. I make fresh buns every day for the show
so they can actually eat them onstage if they want to (we're on for a long
time in the first act). One guy even worked in a bit and stole a bun out of
my basket while directing my attention elsewhere! I've decided to feature
them at the bakery and they'll be known as 'busker buns'. We have 2 more
shows and then we're through. I'll be taking a mini-vacation in CA to visit
some bakeries and a cake show...my body needs the break! After that, back
here and nose to the sheetrock...
I don't have any problem with your sharing anything of these emails on the
boards...thanks for asking though. And i'm tickled that anyone is asking!
I've attached a couple of pictures from the inside...the east gable wall pic
was taken from the loft which is 11' above the main floor...i finally was
able to get rid of the scaffolding about a week ago...whew! The west gable
is showing what the wainscotting will look like. The choc room walls are
the first walls that I framed in...what a learning curve!
gotta go check on my oven...dh just fixed it and I'm trying out some bear
claws.
take care,
heather
