Upgrading Pecan Slice and Bake cookies?

I am thinking of adding these (http://bakingbites.com/2009/07/butter...) to the Christmas cookie boxes because I have some fabulous pecans. I was thinking of lightly roasting and salting some pecans. Then chopping them and using them to coat the dough logs. What do you think? TIA
