After reading "My Life in France,” I've just finished "Mastering" vol. 1 from cover to cover (quite interesting reading it that way!).

So I'm out at lunch and ran into this gift certificate to Circuit City that I’ve been carrying around in my wallet since Christmas (I just couldn’t bring myself to go drop a couple hundred dollars just to redeem a gift certificate...). So I decided to go take a look…oh they have DVDs…hmmmm, cooking…

I now own the complete WGBH Boston series “The French Chef” on 7 cds with JC on the cover holding the great big fish.

Next up: Bouillabaisse for 8!!!

Join the "Wall to Wall" gang, Richard

There are some of us who feel she was extremely important to our cooking lives....

Read the book. Check.
Have "Mastering"- both volumes. Check.

Have "The French Chef" DVDs. Check.

Now you MUST, if you haven't already, read ALL of M.F.K. Fisher's books. All of them. You will consume them once you start.

LOL...

Yes, I have most of her other books too. Just obsessing on her for some reason. Maybe it was when I got to see her kitchen at the Smithsonian in April. Anywho, haven't read ANY MFK, can you believe it!. Where to start? Art of Eating? I was just making a library order and I can add it to the list.

My favourite Julia Child book is...

Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home.

I loved the show on PBS, and love the book even more.

What?? No M.F.K. Fisher? Boy, have YOU got a treat coming....

Yes, order "The Art of Eating"- it has 5 of her books under one cover and if you get through it without craving more I will be terribly surprised. She was incredible. Her writing about food and life is something not to be missed.

Besides all of M.F.K. Fisher's books, I have a stack of letters written to a good friend of mine who published many cookbooks- from M.F.K. Fisher over a good number of years- my friend Betty has since passed away- but even the day-to-day stories shared in the letters are incredible.

I just know you will enjoy reading her books!

Done.

Wow, do I have a lot to learn!

However, the letters...wow. From what I've learned about MFK today on the Web you have an amazing trove.

I look forward to the first book!
