Walnut Jelly. WTF do I do with it? (First person who says "eat it" will suffer, Joe).

So, who's familiar with the stuff? I received a jar as a gift and (as usual) am clueless. Any favorite applications or is it pretty much a sweet condiment like other jams and jellies?

WTF is right!

What The Fool you are not to eat it!

How about spreading it on a multi-grain toasted English muffin for starters?

Don't hurt me Steve!! LOL!

I figured you'd eat it, just didn't know if there was something special as I'd never seen it. Cheese

is an excellent idea. Bet it would be a nice addition to coat a Brie en croute.

But you just said it, making you the first. Sorry for your suffering.

Never tasted it but I agree with Sylvia about the cheese. I know how I love walnut bread with brie. How about a grilled cheese sandwich with brie, caramelized onions and this jelly. Do you need a food taster?

I use pecan jelly....

to make Charley's brie kisses
fill thumbprint cookies
fill gruyer thumbprint cookies (or cheese wafers)
glaze meats like pork loins

You say you're sorry but I hear you giggling from behind your apron. Some days, it just doesn't pay

to share, you wind up with walnut jelly all over your face.

We're Talking Frustration (WTF, right?) I'm thinking it might kick a sweet bread with...

...a walnut filling up a couple of notches if you added it in?

Could be good... FTW (For The Win!)

Michael

"Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" is what I'm talking about. You? I don't think the jelly would work too

well in baked goods unless it's a thumbprint or a thin layer. Wait a minute. A thin layer! BRILLIANT? I think a thin layer...I mean a "ribbon" of the walnut jelly, mixed with cream cheese, egg and a little flour would be a fantastic addition to a banana, pumpkin or other sweet bread. By jove, I think I've got it. (And once again, where does it rain . . . "

What about melting it and pouring it over some ice cream, along with a little hot fudge perhaps?
