Wanted to share a perfect example of my small town life.

I have been sending the kids local maple syrup for years. The kids sent me a text a few days ago to let me know they were running out. The man I buy it from runs a small family operation and I don't know him apart from the syrup connection. When I called he said "Well, I'll be going past the sugar house on Thursday morning. I'll unlock the door . Just go in and take what you want and lock the door when you leave." This example along with all of our farm stands leaving a tupperware container out for customers to put the money in helps to restore my faith in people!

That is super. Even here in a big city we used to have a big garden where the

owner did the same thing. Put his stuff out and left a jar for payment.

My hometown has the “tomato man”

You walk down his driveway to a table in the back yard which is up against an old potting shed. He leaves bags of tomatoes on the table and you drop your money through a slit in the shed wall - honor system.

When we used to have a big garden Mike would take loads of zucchini over to the

supermarket. Every unlocked car in the parking lot got one!
