It was like eating candy, it was so sweet. I think it's easily the best corn I've ever had. Bought from a local farm. And I had a very good peach (from the same farm) on my rice krispies this morning. DH also bought a cantaloupe which was amazingly sweet. The fruit has been really good this summer.

 
I agree. The best corn in years. Some of the peaches here leave me praying to our own failing

specimen that gave us only 9, but that's better than last year when we nearly cut it down. Home-grown peaches, just soooooooooo good.

And we're getting 2 huge crops of raspberries this year.

 
Mom seems to be holding her own at the moment.

She felt well enough to go to our family reunion in New Mexico, where she gained four pounds. I maintain it was all the enchiladas, tamales, chile rellanos, and margaritas they fed her. The doctor took her off chemo becuase he didn't feel it was doing any good. She's now on a pill form of chemo, which costs $4,000/month. Thank god for health insurance. But they both sound pretty good these days.

That's the only reason I"ve ever wanted an ice cream maker. I'm not a fan but I thought

that with these organic and outstanding peaches, I could become one.

If the tree really does get better now, I will get a machine.

We had to take down our plum tree this week. All blighty.
