with the manager and John was browsing a display box of books and he pulled out one for me to look at. The funny thing is the first thing he said was "no pictures". Oh lordy, he knows me too well. I am a sucker with cookbooks with pictures. It always seems to motivate me somehow but I started flipping through it and I really liked what I was seeing so he went back and bought it. I'm wondering if anyone has it. It's called "The Great Country Inns of America" and written by James Stroman, Jennifer Wauson and Kevin Wilson. It has very down to earth home style cooking recipes and on the side of each recipe is the name of the Inn, Bed & Breakfast or whatever the recipe comes from I tells a little something about it and gives their website. In my little bit of browsing through it I've found a few recipes that I use and love so I'm anxious to try a few of the recipes. Anyone else have it?

Sounded familiar, but my book is from 1982 and title is Country Inns of America. Btw, I was

wondering if you cooked corned beef last month? If so, did you like it?

Yesterday I looked for a date and couldn't find one. Just looked again

and I see a copyright 2006 so I guess that's the year. It says it's the fourth edition. Is yours by the same authors? Do you like yours? And yes, we made the corned beef. It turned out perfect but wow is it rich! We liked it with the potatoes and cabbage and all that but we decided it was just too rich. Now the Zingerman's Rueban Sandwiches...now that was perfect using it! I have a great Italian meat market that I buy wonderful corned beef for them so I don't think I'll make it again.

Looks like it is a different author. Mine does have an index by State

in the front, which is kinda nice, and a recipe index in the back and I see there are 2 from Chalet Suzanne Inn. Must be a nice place. There is Shrimp Suzanne with Dill and Blue Cheese Mousse. That Inn is one that I read about yesterday while I was browsing it. The woman turned her home into it after her husband died and she lost the family fortune. Her friends laughed at her and said she would never make it. After 10 days a family of 5 showed up and she was on her way. Pretty cool huh? So I look forward to trying out a few recipes. The recipes all seem simple but I'm sure tasty and I'm all about simple anymore. I do believe the Mexican Eggs that are in the breakfast section are calling me.
