Weekend Six

1. I had a nice day off yesterday. I found some wool yarn and made some covers for my mini laptop and Kindle. I crocheted them and then felted them. They turned out cute and functional. I still have to crochet some flowers to decorate them, but my toys are protected now.

2. I wrote a couple recipes for a newspaper article someone else is writing. I am happy to get that out of the way.

3. I came up with a partial menu for Easter. Mostly make-aheads, I will post when someone starts a thread.

4. Decided that I need to start making more desserts for the cafe.

5. Watched some Barefoot Contessa shows that were recorded and found a few really nice sounding pasta recipes for the cafe and Farmer's Market.

6. The FM opens up at the end of April and I can't wait! Lots of recipes to try out.

My Weekend Six

- It was "Maple Weekend" in NYS this past week and the small business maple houses had open houses and pancake breakfasts so we went. Yumm, I sure do like maple syrup and it wasn't too cold this time.

- 'Didn't make the cheese-tasting event at a local natural foods store. Darn. Sounded good.

- I made pork crystal folds (similar to pork stir-fry in lettuce cups) for dinner Saturday night. Good, but many ingredients... I like those 4-ingredient meals!

- Had a small SU basketball viewing party. Yay, we won. Made hot artichoke-spinach dip. They had fresh artichokes on sale at local grocery store, so I used them. First time "peeling" one.

- I made bacon-corn-potato chowder for a quick lunch Sunday. Good with crescent rolls.

- Yesterday I blew out some eggs for Easter decorations... I haven't done that in years. Quiche for dinner, nothing fancy, just broccoli and red pepper quiche with provolone cheese. Pretty!

Hey Dawn! We went sugar house hopping, too. I didn't think the syrup was very tasty yet and

didn't buy any. We were told to come back in a couple of weeks in hopes that we have some warmer days and the sap flows better. What did you think flavorwise?
