Well add me to the semi walking wounded list

Spent 15+ hours overnight in crazy busy er. Three of which was after I was discharged and the valet lost my car keys. i had to wait till someone came into work as they had the only lockbox key. I can’t believe I did this again, same as last time, tripped on the porch step. One ankle broke, the other major tissue damage. At least this time I can bear weight on the broken one (the one w/o the boot). Sigh…

i’ve got a lot of eggnog to drink now that I’m not turning it into a cheesecake.

Oh…Maria!

Well, that makes three of us now…maybe the Trip & Fall gods will finally be satisfied.

Did you get to have your “girls” cookie fest first??

And…HOW did you drive to the ER???

Your left foot and my right arm could go out on a date, in matching outfits.

I am sorry for all the time in front of you putting up with the inability to function well. I hope you can get all the help that is possible to help your mobility. So sorry and geez, get that step fixed!!

And btw, be careful of any incidental wounds and their possible infections. Mine is causing me more trouble and pain than all of my recent afflictions....and still not healing.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing wrong with the porch step. It’s me. Stairs and I just don’t get along.

I did not go to the girls cookie fest because I’ve been having intestinal issues earlier in the week and I thought, even though I was fine by that day, I didn’t wanna chance giving them anything close to Christmas. I was making cookies at home so we were sharing texts and photos while they were making cookies at their house.

I did manage to get all the cookies for Southern California shipped before this happened, so that got done.

I’m a tough bird. I drove myself to the hospital. I knew the ankle was broken, but I was able to put weight on it. In fact, the ones that’s messed up with the boot I thought was just going to be sprained, but that’s the one that broke last time and so it got all inflamed at me messing with it by falling again. That’s currently the bad foot. I’m cleared to actually walk on the broken one.

I remembered from previous boot cast that a lot of them have air bladders in them for adjustment so I looked this model up online and sure enough it does as well. I was able to completely readjust it and now it no longer tips me backwards. In fact now, I don’t need crutches at all, so I’m trying my hand at going over to my sister-in-law‘s for dinner. At least I can get a hot meal before I have to switch to all the microwave food in the weeks to come.

My other sister-in-law text me and talked me into going tonight…she said come sit on the couch with me because she also fell and she broke her orbital bone so she’s got a huge blackeye.. This getting old isn’t for Sissies!
