was making mashed potatoes with Sauteed Garlic. I decided that the toppings I had were so strong, that I needed a plainish base. I made beef stroganoff, chicken ala king, pork chile verde, and broccoli and cheese. I had assorted toppings besides. It was really good, and I made most of it ahead of time. The sauteed garlic is my favorite. It is from one of my friends. Here is the recipe and here is his blog.

No Joe,

we just drank martinis out of them. Shhhhh Joe, not so loud. Reminds me of a Dorothy Parker quote.
Since it was so casual, I just had everything in nice ovenproof serving dishes, and kept everything warm in the oven until we ate. It worked great. It was one of those days when everything worked exactly as it should.
Just a side note. We have a croquet set that when ever we have a party or friends over, we break out, it is so much fun. Everyone really enjoys it. It's a really nice icebreaker when you don't know people very well. Even beginners have fun with it.
I will have to go out today and look for my martini glass. I set it on a tree branch somewhere while we were playing.
I did a baked potato bar before, and that was also really good. Almost the same really.

Sounds like a great time, Dawn. Finding glasses in strange places >>

is one of my favorite post-party things.
