Well, that did not work...gluten free Jaffles?????

I dug out the jaffle irons a week or so back and made chicken mayo jaffles with one grandie.

I just picked up 2 grandies from school today and was asked for jaffles when they got home...well one grandie has a wheat intolerence so what to do.....

she loves cheese and I have no time to make any type of bread she can eat...so I lined the jaffle irons with grated parmesan cheese mixed with a wee bit of rice flour and cornmeal flour...and popped the egg in it...

The thing cooked up like a jaffle but it was , of course, far too salty and too much of a cheese overload.

What could I use in place of bread for these yummy thingies???????

are Jaffles the same as Waffles? I think a GF pancake recipe would work. the link is

for the Glutenfreegirl blog page of her recipe index and also other gluten free blogger links. in the Breakfast section is a recipe for pancakes. maybe start there and experiment?

here is the direct link to the pancake post.

Have you tried the flourless peanutbutter cookies? very good and kids of all ages love them.

I'm lost with this conversation! I don't know what a jaffle is, or a pie iron, or a grandie either.

And here I thought this was an African bush thing....

found this...mixes we most often do:
egg...but this needs to be scooped out of a bowl into which it has been broken as there is often too much white and then the egg breaks and all becomes messy...less egg white means a lovely round of egg yolk....
Chicken mayonaise....
left over mashed potjie...
left over fish pie.....
scrambled egg and chopped cooked bacon.....
avocado and bacon (one of my absolute favs)...
and new one...Gretchen's pulled pork

Never heard it called a pie iron before...

This is a great way of cooking when we have those power cuts or lack of power after hurricanes....

Grandies...grand-sprogs.

so, none of the ingredients you listed contain gluten. Is there an addition of flour? or are

these ingredients sandwiched between bread slices and then compressed and grilled?

Ahhh...sorry yes, everything isput between two slices of buttered bread and it comes out..

like (I guess uh! duh!) a pie.....sealed around the middle and filled with the scrumpshish filling.
I love it when the egg is all melty and the toast buttery and golden, with huge glasses of champers and OJ.... when out camping.

..."huge glasses of champers and OJ.... when out camping" >> No wonder camping

wasn't as much fun for me. I forgot the bubbly!

Hmmm...wonder what the mosquitoes were like AFTER they bite you? Do you thing their alcohol blood level went up!
