Well, the big Grand Canyon trip is over and done, and it was very satisfying on a number of..

...different levels.

The food was wonderful and very well received; parent volunteers worked harder than I could have ever imagined necessary or possible; weather challenges were encountered and overcome; lots of foxhole bonding happened, both amongst parents and amongst the kids.

I am exhausted, physically and emotionally.

The teacher who conceived this trip and has run it for the last 12 years has announced her resignation after the school year is out, and she proclaimed the food on this trip to be the best ever!

Woo Hoo!

Great Job!! SOOOO, did they sign you up to lead the entire initiative next year? Sounds like a

wonderful experience for both the volunteers and the students! Glad it went so well!

Michael, maybe you could share some of your menus in the T&T menu section. It would be helpful

for any of us "lucky"(er, crazy)enough to participate in a group adventure like this. At least some ideas of what you cooked and prepared in advance and what worked and what you would change.

I will post menus and tips. We are meeting as a team later this month..

...to gather our thoughts and ideas.

I'll let you know.

The biggest challenge is keeping the massive crows/ravens from flying off with your entire camp!

Since the teacher who did this for a dozen years is leaving, there is buzz...

...that the headmaster might want me to head up the organization of the trip, and hire me to do so.

I'm not sure he can afford me. It's a month and a half of planning, to the exclusion of most other activities.

It sounds like a great adventure. Congratulations on pulling it off! (Who won the debate?)

I never thought of it "that way", but as long as my...

...wife was along on the next trip, I see no harm!

She's amazing......................oy.
