tropical downpour outside. Quite weird.

I enjoyed the game, what little we saw of it between commercials, but found the actual game rather slow with much thumping one another's heads (even if it is on the helmets) a bit disconcerting! Also all they seemed to do was run into each other, no good passing down the line as they made for the touch down etc...I am a big rugby fan and the singing and excitment of that game seemed to be missing in this one. Prolly due to the rain.

The fireworks and rock-star part of the show was enjoyable to watch, not ball game entertainment I was expecting and I was looking forward to seeing the puff-girls do their stuff but they hardly ever were shown.

Anyway the Colts winning was to be expected I was told, so I feel for the underdogs as I always do, poor things going home defeated!

The food was interesting....My pickled shrimp were amazing. (Thanks CynUpstate)I also made tatziki with Greek yoghurt, so much better than using the Dannon stuff.

We had hummus (artichoke and roasted red pepper ones) and garlic bread and meatballs in a tomato based sauce with pasta and a wonderful salad with cheese cake to follow.(apparently that or meatball sandwiches are these folk's standered big game fare.)

Lots of wine and beer and a most entertaining evening all round.

Lol, Florida sunshine has been in short supply over the entire state for several days. It's

cool (I would say cold...but I realize that's relative), damp, drizzily and quite miserable in my part of the state and will continue to be today.

Your food sounds really nice, glad you had fun! I enjoyed the game, really a tough one for the

players. So happy the Colts won, they had a brutal time last year with a lot of personal tragedy etc. This whole playoff period was tough for me, usually like both teams!
Actually can not believe I am saying this, not ever tired of football, but this year am just worn out!!
Am going to try that shrimp recipe looks like an excellent one. I had everything ready to make some bruschetta to go with my champagne, got so into the game, just threw a bag of popcorn in microwave. Guess what's for lunch today?
Have a Super Monday!

were the comercials that good? they talked about them for weeks on the radio

and talk shows, unbelivable! one would think the game would have been the topic of discussion?

NO!!! The first 3 commercials were good -- the rest were awful!

My favorite was the Blockbuster one with the mouse smileys/smile.gif

Good or bad I have no idea but the game was interrupted far too

much, even for a novice like me. As you say, surely the game should have been the important topic?!

whata pain, glad I missed it. the only sports I've ever enjoyed were the ones

I dated! "-))

I loved the party one with martha Stewart. funny.

She sent someone out to buy groceries and they came back with cumin instead of cilantro and they said "I thought it was the same thing" and she says "oh never mind" or something like that. It made me chuckle.

Baseball--sometines they sing nah nah nah nah hey hey, or whatever the organ is playing, but not

much singing(if any) at football games that I recall. They like to do "the wave" though.

I also liked the Blockbuster commercial, was refilling my champgne on some of the other ones--

but the whole thing is they pay something like 2.5 million dollars for the 30 seconds because of the exposure. The CokeCola ones were nice, this was a landmark game for African Americans and the spots were well done, really well.
The half time show in my mind have also gotten out of hand, haven't watched one since Toby Keith. Prince?
Was an amazing game in many ways, and that's what I showed up for!
Que? no hable baseball?

I hear ya, halftime was for refreshing the lemon drop cocktail.

I thought the bud commercial with the 2 apes was very funny and also the one with the hitchhikers. The taco bell commercial with the talking lions also made me chuckle, especially when the real Ricardo Montelban(or a good knock off) voiced "Carne Asada" at the end. I guess I was in a silly mood. I also found many of them very offensive and in very poor taste.
