Well, you're not going to believe this, but...

after an absolutely horrible day (and actually a horrible few weeks), I decided to make Alice Medrich's Bittersweet Chocolate Ice Cream to make myself feel better. I was all ready for something to go wrong, as it has all day, but everything went well UNTIL... I started to wash the bowls. Well, one stainless steel bowl got itself completely stuck inside another, and after banging, hitting, and soaking them in very hot, then very cold water, I still can't get the damn thing out. This has never happened before, and it is so befitting, since today has really sucked. Any brilliant suggestions out there?!!!!

Cyn still has you beat on crappy days this week - but this works when glasses are stuck together

maybe it will work for stainless bowls as well. Fill top bowl with ice water and then dip the bottom bowl in very hot water. Hopefully that will break the seal!

Good luck smileys/smile.gif

I have heard (though don't know first hand) that if you...

put ice cubes in the top one, then put the bottom one in hot water, that they will come right apart. If that doesn't work (since they are stainless steel), I would try squirting some oil between them... let us know if you find a solution.

if hot water doesn't work, maybe iced water will...

you're hoping for different coefficients of expansion between the 2.

hot water works on a jar because the metal expands more.

Hah...many people in our office go for the chocolate when stressed out...

I love this! There's an M&M dispenser on one of the cabinets and sometimes that thing is just smokin' hot from folks using it...someone recently brought in DARK chocolate M&M's...I like to call them "tranquilizers."

Yep, that's what did it. Ice water in the top with the bottom immersed in hot. It didn't work

right away, though, and I was all ready to break out the WD40, but after several minutes, the magic happened. Yay!
