went to a newly opened restuarant last night and took my camera, a la Richard...what a good idea....

but I quite relate to Richard getting carried away with the meal and forgetting the camera.

The restuarant was French and very beautifully appointed, indoors so with airconditioning (we mostly go to outdor places these days and usually eat at excellent French restuarants)

They brought us THE most devine 'amuse bouche' a lobster bisque with garlic pita triangles...soo good!

I had THE most devine duck confit with truffel...plated in a circle with mashed potato on top and the crispiest, weeniest duck leg atop of that...that's it. $34.00

DH had a wee slice of salmon and pretty veggies all extremely small taste bites and a great sauce (I can't remember what ) $29.00

My glass of rose was small and $8.00

We then shared a plater of cheeses (no blue cheese please)

A very nice plate with frisee and a sauce, fresh, hot, home baked roll ... just a sliver of a variety of 4 cheeses $10.00

AND I had a glass of Saurtnes (sp) small $16.00

A 'degustation' menu was offered at $100.00 a head...5 small taste plates and a small glass of wine with each.

What makes us think that although the service and the food were excellent this restuarant will prolly not be a stayer?

There were precisly 4 of us dining there that entire evening.

How would these prices compare with GOOD restuarants you like to go to in the States
