What are your results? Charley's Microwave poached eggs

So...I have a 1,000W microwave.

At 60 seconds, there was hardly any change.

20 seconds more, there was some firmness in the whites.

15 seconds more and the whites were finally "poached egg" like.

However, the yolks were solid.

So...this is perfect if I want to make chopped hard-boiled eggs for a recipe in 1.5 minutes. Not so good for poached.

I'll continue to test to find the right time/power rating for my machine, but wondered what YOUR numbers are? Please provide time/wattage of your microwave (if you don't know the wattage, it's usually written on a plate inside the door.)

Man, this is a great idea--sister and I made potato salad last weekend and poached the eggs . . .

But as our household has come out to the stone-age and we now have a microwave, I am going to try to cook them as you mention above! Cool!

Thanks Marilyn!

--one last thing: You might want to try nuke poaching by. . .

running an egg through the mike for the whole time, straight through, and not stopping and starting. Does this make sense? try one egg at each length of time?

I had better results when I heated the water a bit first (30 sec), Then poached egg for 60 sec.

Wattage info to follow....
1580 W

I think that is a low wattage (which is fine), and as Mistral said

find the amount of time it takes for your nuker to do the job for the amount of cooked egg you want--I LOVE mine super soft. So I would do ONE egg (as Mistral said) at a time and I'd give it 80 seconds. See where that is on your level of love and dial it back or add five seconds, etc. I don't think it works to put back for more to get the right time.

I had virtually the same results you did Marilyn....did about 6 eggs total at diff times

I tried 60 seconds. Raw. Added another 25 seconds, hard boiled. 70 seconds, yolk perfect, whites runny
75 seconds, whites almost good, yolk soft/going toward hard. 80 seconds, hard yolks again.

Was making a warm spinach salad for dinner which got cold while I was fussing with the eggs, so I gave up as DH was hungry! I like Luisa's suggestion of heating the water first, that makes sense. Will try again

I have the GE Advantium oven, which is speed cook/microwave, here are my numbers from inside the door.
They don't look like normal micro numbers.

KW 1.7 (MW) 4.7LW/6.3 all (verbatim from inside the door)

I luckily have very consistent results as was posted, but I

wonder if the shape of the vessel being used influences the results. I use a cup that is narrower at the bottom (like a real coffee cup--not mug) so the egg is somewhat shaped. The amount of water used is also important--if too much it will of course take longer, but the egg has to be covered.
