What cake would you do for a school bake day - cake is to be made with my granddaughter.?

I am looking for something that will attract attention. Maybe colorful. Don't want to do the rainbow cake though. Also I am thinking that there will be so many chocolate things that I would stay out of that.

I am actually thinking of an Oreo cake (I have done that for my

granddaughter so she may not want it). I did a cheesecake

factory copycat Oreo cheesecake last week for my grandson and it was a hit - so I may do that one - but anything you can

rec will be appreciated.

My friend makes a cake that she calls "Unicorn Poop cake." She puts all kinds of confetti over the

top--multi colored balls, stars, sprinkles, you name it. It's been so popular, she's been hired to make it several times. It's just a 3 layer cake with white frosting and tons of colorful stuff on the top, but kids love the "Unicorn Poop" idea.

LOL. I make a similiar 'silly string cake' - or I should say my neighbor's kids do

I make a cake and frost it with white frosting and then give them tubes of colored frosting/gels and have them go at it. They cake looks great afterward - so colorful!

Such great ideas. We were thinking the Kitkat and then we saw

the watermelon cake.

We are not doing the watermelon flavor as we don't have that jello here. But it is pretty enough

and with a good white cake and chocolate chips inside it can't be bad.

I forgot to say thank you. Loved your ideas and will do some during the year for the Birthdays.

Also wanted to say - I am doing the white cake with a
pink coloring inside so the cake will be pink.

Where do you live Elaine? My nephew is moving to Haifa come August

He just graduated from University of MI with a Masters of Public Health. He'll be working there - part of Habonim.

I live in Tel Aviv but if he is ever here or needs news and advice I would be happy to help. I am

smack in the middle of the city and I do have friends in Haifa.
I will PM you details.

I am a fan of the rainbow - have made them up to 9 layers for a 9 year old. My granddaughter has had

them for a few birthdays and she wanted something new from
grandma.

I tried my first one last weekend (baked the layers) - will assemble

this Friday for company. I think my layers are two thin though - I should have double the recipe.

Thank you Elaine!

So kind of you!
