What dessert can I take that can sit in a hot car for more than an hour?

We're meeting up with friends and their family to go to dinner. I'd like to bring a dessert to enjoy at the beach afterward.

That means it will sit in our car for 1-2 hours.

Any ideas? The restaurant we're going to is huge and will not let desserts be brought in.

poundcake, dyslexic sauce, cut up fruit, fruit sauce---all kept in a cooler with ice. have a little

poundcake embellishing party. or make a trifle that can sit in a cooler with lots of ice surrounding it and put a plate on top of it with a block of ice on that. should keep nice and cool for at least an hour. maybe make an eggless pudding, not custard for the trifle.

Excellent idea, Ang. And I can make the cake on Saturday so it will ripen. Just made a batch of

peach/apricot jam that's kindof soft and runny, so it would be good as a topper.

I was really, really stuck on chocolate cupcakes with chocolate mousse icing and couldn't think past that.

Thanks Ang and Meryl. I made a pound cake & fresh fruit since I didn't think I had the will-power to

resist brownies.

Na...let's remove the "think" out of that sentence. There was NO WAY I could have resisted brownies.
