What is everyone making for Valentine's day? I am hosting a tea next Tuesday and...

Cheezz, I went to "tea" last week in Richmond at a darling new tea house....

My dear BIL is British and we went there for his birthday. One of the savory things that they served was a little cupful (maybe held about 1/2C) of sweet potato soup. All she would tell us about the soup was that it had maple, cinnamon and nutmeg in it--it was wonderful!

The soup was drunk from the little cup as if it were a beverage, no spoons accompanied it.

I saw some pretty heart-shaped raviolis with red pasta sheets, I'm not sure how that would work with

tea, though.

For a bridal shower I once made little heart-shaped

tea sandwiches using Valtrompia bread tubes (sold by Pampered Chef). You just put 2 pkgs of tubed croissant dough and bake them in the tubes. When they're done, you cut them into 1/2-inch slices and spoon any type of topping that you want. I think Iused pink cream cheese with a strawberry half on them, but you could make cucumber sandwiches, bacon and onion spread etc.

Appropriate for Valentine's Day, pretty, easy, and good.

Does anyone use their tea set anymore? I have two, one for fancy and another for everyday

This site Pat provided gives awesome recipes for Tea Parties (or every day) but still.... Tea parties are fun

My best memory for a tea party was when I was 6 yrs old, I had a little pink set from Christmas and

I remember I had my dolls and snoopy dog sitting at my little table and serving them tea. In the kitchen my father and a few of his close friends were having a few beers and relaxing when I decided to bring in a (thimble sized) cup of tea to my father. It was a plastic little pink tea cup on a little pink saucer and it was filled with water.

My father stopped his beer drinking and thanked me for the tea and drank the water and asked for more, I was so excited so I ran and got my tea pot and filled his tea cup a time or two more, he was a gentleman by thanking me. I was so so happy.

Years later when reminiscing with my father he said his friends teased him hard over that but his response was.. It's the best tea because she is happy. Talk about a wonderful father. He was the best.

I have a tea set, been adding pieces to it bit by bit as it's a bit dear...

Wild Strawberry by Royal Worchester. I just need 2 more dessert plates and another teacup and I can have tea for 4! but I love using it and seeing it in the china cabinet makes me happy.

I've been wanting to have a tea party with my galpals and our mothers, wouldn't that be fun? A cream tea of course.

I've made salads in the tea cups - everyone loved it! I have a great sweet potato soup recipe... thx

Cream tea - of course! I used to give tea parties much more often but DD moved in...

all my 'stuff' is in bins in the attic and SUCH a royal pain to bring it down and up again.... I miss having them! This little one I'm doing Tuesday will give me a chance to go up and play with my goodies again - let them know they're not forgotten smileys/smile.gif

I don't have any 2 cups/saucers the same -- that was one of the fun parts of the tea party - each guest comes in a picks her own. And they ALL have some kind of pink roses on them.

whooeee... I just looked at the prices - good luck there!! Have you tried the outlets?

Better add it to the birthday/anniversary/Christmas list smileys/smile.gif
