What is on the menu for the Fourth? I am so unispired this year.

We are having it at our house and will be around 15 people. I am sick of food after just doing a marketing luncheon and a flea market at the cafe. Food bleh. I never thought I would be saying that in a million years. Any good ideas?

Jane Brody's Chicken (in the files) is good.

Also, I just used the Unbelievable Chicken Marinade (also in the files) and it was fabulous--guests raved about it. And the Smoky Pomegranate Molasses Baked Beans was wonderful--even my husband liked it and he hates beans with the passion of a thousand suns.

Pulled pork sandwiches? You could make that in the crockpot and it would be easy.

I have a great recipe for a Fresh Berry Pie (cream cheese and whipping cream base); I think that's in the files, too.

Hope this helps. I know exactly how you feel.

We were going to have a hot dog taste test - I bought a few different kinds to try.

Planned on grilling them and having several kinds of mustard, sauerkraut, and maybe some chili for toppings.

I'm going to change or at least add a bunch of stuff because I just made plans to have family over on that day, and they don't eat beef or pork.

Country-style Ribs w/BBQ sauce slow-cooked in the oven, potato salad, veggie salad, easy

It may be uninspired but I guarantee every bit will be eaten. Add corn on the cob, watermelon.

It's what I am making for a crew. Easy, delicious.

I'm going to a friends house and have been asked to bring a tasty tidbit, she's vegetarian.

I think it's probably rude if I bring a dish she cannot eat, so all my go-to ideas are out.

I do have a huge bag of bell peppers, I could make a caponata of sorts, what do you think?

I really want to do jalapeno poppers but they need bacon.

My stepdaughter decided for me, yay! We are having a burger and hot dogbar.

Toppings to include: different types of cheeses, bacon, carmelized onions, guacamole, sauteed mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and probably a couple other things. I am making baked beans and there will be no potato salad. I made a bunch of it for a customer and I am so sick of it. Bleh! Everybody is making and bringing food so it will not fall completely on my shoulders. I am so relieved to have this figured out.

Thanks Amanda. I haven't made that chicken in awhile and I do like it a lot.

Obviously, because I posted it about a zillion times. It will be a good to make for the cafe too. No frying involved and it is does not have to be served hot. Thanks for reminding me of this one.

Heather, is she an ovo vegetarian? I have a good cold stuffed jalapeno

recipe that is very different. Split & seeded then filled with a seasoned paste made of cream cheese, hard cooked egg yolks and cheese. Very good. Also, they are good filled with good homemade pimento cheese.

What

My to-go-to dish is a vegetable platter with a yogurt dip (raita). It always disappears fast.

Nachos with home made salsa is also a dish that is easy to transport and

which tastes great in the summer.
