What is your favorite lemon cookie? One that can travel across the USA and still arrive tasty?

I'd like to thank a friend who did a kind act for me--and lemon is her favorite flavor. She tends to reduce the sugar in almost everything so I'm a bit wary of just picking any old recipe.

Thanks.

I did receive a status email. Thank you. My computer has been whacky lately...had LONG service call

with Xfinity service provider to solve the internet issues.

Thanks for the recipe. I might just try both of them.

Have you thought of lemon quick bread? It would hold up

Just in case you might want it, here is my favorite- might even have come from the Swap long ago:

LEMON BATTER BREAD
(makes one loaf)

1 cup sugar
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 Tbsp grated lemon rind (freshly grated not dry)
1-1/2 cups plus 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
1/3 cup milk and lemon juice to make total of 1/2 cup
1/2 cup chopped almonds

Blend sugar and oil. Add eggs and milk, stirring to mix. Add lemon rind and dry ingredients and nuts. Do not over beat- just make sure they are blended. Bake in a greased loaf pan at 350ï‚° for 45-50 minutes.Just as you take it out of the oven, mix this topping to drizzle over the bread while it is still warm:
1/3 cup sugar
3 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
