What is your favorite non-stick pan? I'm tired to the stuff scraping off

My favorite is the supermarket type (about $20.00) When I see the stuff scraping off I buy a new

one and throw the old one out. I also have a couple of the oversize 14" ones ($48.00 from Smart and Final) which I love, but I don't expect them to last forever either. Non-stick pans are IMHO semi-disposable.

(Cast iron is even cheaper and almost non-stick once it's seasoned.)

My one Calphalon saute pan has become the most expensive, stickingest, warped-est pan I own. A total ripoff, but because of its shape it's good for sauces, so I've spared it.

Chezz, Go to QVC, search Cooks Essentials Cookware. I have

Both regular Cooks Essentials and The 500 series and just love them. I have never had a problem with non stick coming off and I use them every day. You can even use metal utensils. They have a lifetime guarantee and if anything happens like that, they will replace the pan free of charge. Sometime they have "try me" pieces at a lower price. Their Tecnique line is also excellent. Prices are very reasonable.

I have a Cook's Essentials/Calphalon non-stick square griddle

that I love. It fits on my glass stove top and heats evenly. It would work nicely with your eggs also. I bought mine at Target, and I don't remember how much it cost.

Joe, Calphalon has a lifetime warranty, perhaps you could get it replaced? I love my

8, 10, and 12-inch Calphalon Commercial non-stick skillets. They haven't peeled a bit. I also have some original Calphalon that was supposedly non-stick (a wok and stir-fry pan), they definitely sticks Is that what you have? I think that line has been discontinued.

I have a set of these and they are really great. The nice thing

about ordering from QVC is you can try them for 30 days and if you don't like them, you can return them.

Curious1 - I had those pans and absolutely Hated them and have long since thrown them out.

Mine is 16 years old, so it's probably the original. I may look into the warranty.

I do better with indestructable items in cast iron or stainless steel, lol. Maybe the newer ones would be worth looking into.

You are right cheezz, I hadn't had my coffee yet, when I posted this AM,

I did get it at Target and it is a Kitchen Essentials by Calphalon, not Cooks. I do love it this griddle. It was the third one I had tried, and this was the one I kept.

Here's mine. It looks like this in the link but it is a very high quality all- clad TFal.

Inside and out. The handles pop off for amazing storage facility. And there are straight-sided versions that work beautifully for souffles. I use them for casseroles, or whatever, because they go right into the oven.

And I have a variety of lovely glass lids for them.

No cleaning. Absolutely no sticking. Easy storage.

It's the first one on the page. Ah yes. This actually IS it. I wish I had the set of frypans beside it.

Curious1, It was the original line. Very disappointed with them, sorry I did'nt make myself clear.

I buy cheap ones. Current fave is

Bella Cucina, from the hardware store, cost about $20, it'll last a year, maybe two, before stuff starts sticking. Before that it was a Star-frit. I could have spent 10 times more on a fancy name brand, but stuff sticks eventually (Paderno, Calphalon ... pricy landfill). Seems to me the extra money pays for a name, not non-stick durability.

I had a Calphalon (gift) that I tossed after 6 months - the darn thing never was non-stick.

'course, this was years ago. I like the look of the TFal and Cook's Essential. Will get around to some places and take a look at them.
You're ALL great - thanks!
