randi

Well-known member
food TV. Paula Deen was making orange brownies. so, there is nothing brown about those brownies and I was wondering why they are still called brownies?

anyone know?

Brownies have little or no leaveners. Hence, the chewy or fudgy texture, as opposed to cakes.

They're not typical.

or at least they don't seem to fit most people's definition of a brownie.

well, there you go randi, paula deen wasn't making brownies at all...

she was making orangies.

Is this what's called a blondie culinary moment? smileys/wink.gif
