What the heck did Larry buy?

I sent him to the health food store for organic kale and mangos. Then he called from the store and asked if I needed anything else, so I added butternut squash to the list.

When he came home, he had two burgundy-colored, coarse-skinned, yam-lookalike root vegetables.

I asked where my butternut was and he said he bought two Garnet yams instead because they were out of butternuts.

I know Garnets, Mr. Quayle, and these are no Garnets.

The question is...what are they? And what do I do with them?

Probably not yams because they are really not available in the US, although

a type of sweet potato is labeled YAM, in the states. I bought Japanese Sweet Potatoes last week, they were ruby on the outside and white inside. We baked them, rubbing the skin with coconut oil first. They were fabulous with nothing on them.

In Japan, they have sweet potato trucks, like we have ice cream trucks

they bring the hot potatoes to the streets and people, even children flock to get them.

LOL!

I always laugh when I see men in the supermarket with absolutely no clue. They can't even empty a cart full of groceries onto a conveyor belt correctly!

The cashier I like says they are fish out of water and everyone gets wet.

Sweet Potato Carts

I recently viewed a tv program in which they mentioned that in the day ( early 1900's) there were hundreds of street carts selling roasted sweet potatoes in NYC.

Who Knew!
