What to put in the fondue pot for Christmas? (It has to travel an hour first.)

So Christmas has been reinvented this year by my SIL who always hosts. It's been changed to this Saturday and it's now appetizers only. I'm toying with the idea of something I can serve in the fondue pot. I suppose I could use it as a server for a hot dip, right? Will it work like a chafer? Fondue itself doesn't seem like it could travel - I dunno. I have never made fondue of any kind (tho I like the cheddar one at a local restaurant).

However, the pot is pretty and shiny so that alone is making me try to think of something to use it for.

I MIGHT be able to solve that lack. (Shhhhhh, don't tell the others.)

I mean finding cheese log made with sodium citrate. Why, what did you think?

My neighbor has a similar pot to yours. She brings it out once/year for our NYE party. She

polishes it up beautifully and serves swedish meatballs with sauce in it. It looks quite pretty and has become a tradition for us.

I agree with the meatball idea. I have a delicious and stupid easy

recipe for Danish meatballs that I have done for parties and they are always scarfed up! Everyone loves them. What kind of pepper? If it's black pepper just skip it. There isn't any other kind of pepper in them. If you would like to have the recipe I'll post it for you.

Sounds yummy, yes would love the recipe - thank you!

She can't have anything pepper related and I keep looking at my hot dips recipes/etc with tabasco and such she can't eat.

Here ya go. Just leave the black pepper out. No one will miss it.

Thanks all!

After talking with my SIL I didn't end up doing a hot item, just the cold dip and cheesecake because she had a lot of other items already. I'm saving these for later though, thank you!
