What was your favorite after-school (or anytime) between-mean snack when you were a kid?

I was thinking about this and it wasn't the usual candy bar or dessert - mine were a little unusual.

Mine were

-honey cream spread onto Ritx crackers

-walnuts dipped in blue cheese dressing

-and a combo of the two, walnuts dipped into the little tub of honey cream

Yeah, I guess that second one is a little odd for a 10-year-old!

But even now, people I know think my "snacks" (read: small meals) are a little wierd, but I come from a long line of conservative eaters... I don't like conventional breakfasts every single day, so a frequent one for me is a muffin with a tablespoon of peanut butter. I got some strange looks from dear sister with that one, but I didn't think it was odd at all. Carbs, good fat, and protein to keep me satisfied. 'Better than a bagel smeared with butter (for me and my spiking blood sugars).

What were/are yours?

OMG - deja vu... I asked this same exact question last year! With my same three

choices. Hmm, well, maybe we can get some more...

Cucumber salad! Had one every day, and would get in trouble every day for having some of the

peels from the skin end up on the wall vs. the garbage can. When I think back on it, why should a small child, barely the size of the garbage can get in trouble for making and eating something healthy! Oh Well!

well, when I hover between "mean" and angelic, I think it had to be cookies and milk, or gruel.

I honestly can't remember after school snacks, but we must have had them?? My Dad worked the afternoon shift, so maybe we ate early and then I remember bedtime snacks of cereal, every night.

Ooh, I forgot about Oreos! Except I I only liked the chocolate part, so I would scrape out the

vanilla icing inside!

My mom mostly told us to eat a piece of fruit, or we made cookies-both my folks

were school teachers so we ate dinner really so you didn't have to be "tided over" very long.
