What's everyone having for lunch/dinner?

We had our Saturday-lunch standby: pan-fried herbed chicken, roasted potatoes, salad. Strawberries and cream later, maybe.

DH made tagliatelle with a salmon cream sauce with parmesan.

I know, I know, you shouldn't use parmesan in cream sauces for pasta, but this sauce is different.

Then we had coconut sorbet for dessert.

Loved dinner. Love my cook! smileys/wink.gif

Pork loin in the crockpot with cream of

celery soup and mashed potatoes. Probably a Caesar salad and pound cake with fresh pineapple (!!) for dessert.

I bought some Parmigiano-Reggiano the other day, to see if we could taste the difference between that and the store blend (or even on occasion just the "green-can" stuff). We couldn't. Happy for that as it is over $20/lb. Anyone with me on this, or is there a real difference in quality of taste?

I use the store brand or green can for normal use...BUT, there is something special w/ a good parm.

Use a cucumber peeler and thinly slice on top of arugula w/ some pine nuts..... Mmmmm. w/ a little balsamic viniagrette... mmm

Ooh, those all sound good. Trying to think of something for Sun.--it's supposed to rain buckets. smileys/frown.gif

Another scary insight into Marilyn's mind: I saw Attila and Doner and read "Donner" as in the

wagontrain party that was stranded in the mountains at Donner Pass and had to eat one another to survive.

Attila the Hun was also known for cannibalizing his enemies.

I figured rhoward2 was having a quirky go at us with her dinner options.

See. At least you can shut off the Internet to get away from me. I'm stuck with this mind.
