What's the best way to heat up fried rice? I learned the hard way

it isn't microwaving it with a tablespoon or so of water, even covered. Usually there aren't any leftovers, but this time we have a lot. I could get the steamer out, I guess, but are there any easier ways?

Oh, maybe pressure cooking? I don't want it hard, tough, or gummy...

I put it into the oven in a greased dish, covered and warm it up slowly.

If it has seafood, you have to be careful not to over heat. I prefer to eat it barely warm than overcook the seafood. It it is on the dry side, add a bit of chicken broth.

Julia says you can steam it, wrapped in a towel, in a covered steamer. I haven't tried it.

I microwave it all the time and it's just like fresh! I have one of those plastic

Japanese rice bowls with a removeable bottom and lid. You put a tbl. or so of water in the bottom, snap it on, and steam at half power for about 2 minutes. It's just priceless for me as I reheat rice a LOT.

That's exactly what I thought, and did, but maybe I didn't get it hot enough, afraid

I might overcook it, and so I undercooked it and din't "make" steam to soften it. I just thought of that... I'll try longer next time.

Thanks everyone!!

Perfect this time - 2 T water with 2 T sesame salad dressing

covered, and fried for 10 minutes on medium heat. Well maybe that's considered simmering/steaming. Thanks!
